Jason Priestley formerly Jason Bradford Priestley is an American-Canadian based actor and a film director. His most famous work is his role as Brandon Walsh on the T.V. series Beverly hills and also for his role where he starred in the show “Call me Fitz” as Richard Fitzpatrick. He is a stunning actor known for his skills as a talented actor as well as a movie maker. He is also known as the voice of the commentator for ABC’s TV coverage in early 1996.

Early Life

Born on August 26, 1969, Jason is the son of the famous actress, Sharon Kirk. He was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He was raised along with his twin sister, Justine Priestley as well as two step-siblings Karin and Kristi.

Education

He started and ended his schooling at Argyle Secondary school in Vancouver along with his twin sister.

Early Career

Jason first started his career by doing commercials for TV. He was the company’s commercial star for companies like Fletcher’s Meats. Priestley then guest-starred as Roberto Coronado in the early episode “A piece of cake” in the series Airwolf. he played the role of a mobster’s grandson. He also appeared in episodes of 21 Jump Street and later bagged a role in the 1989 sitcom Sister Kate. In this series, Jason played the role of one of the foster children in the care of an English nun, Kate.

Career

As an actor

Priestley then got the role for which he was recognized and gathered much fame. In the year 1990, he played the role of Brandon Walsh in the hit series, “Beverly Hills, 90210”. His role in the series made him a teen idol worldwide. He then got into the cast of Tru Calling in the character of Jack Harper. Along with the series, his television appearance includes in the show The WB and What I Like about you. He also played lead roles in Side order of Life, The Day of the Triffids. Jason had also made a guest appearance in My Name is Earl, where he played the part as a cousin brother of Earls.

He was also seen in the Britney Spears music video “Boys”. Since 2010, he has been the main and title character of the HBO’s TV show called “Call me Fitz”. Priestley has also starred in Zoom, a comedy along with Gael Garcia Bernal. In 2011, he was included in the cast of a sci-fi show “Haven”. He played roles in several other movies like- Boys who could fly, Watchers, Tombstone, Coldblooded, Love and Death on Long Island, Hacks, The thin Pink Line, Eye of the beholder, Lion of OZ, Double Down, The fourth Angel, Cherish, Cover Story, Time of the wolf, Fancy Dancing, Made in Brooklyn etc.

As a director

He first started his directing career while directing the series he was in called “Beverley Hills”. Jason later directed 19 more episodes of the final season of  “7th Heaven” as well as two episodes of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”.  Priestley again directed five episodes of “Secret Life”. He directed several more episodes of other TV series as well. But his first feature, as well as directorial debut film, was a comedy movie named Cas & Dylan. The movie starred Richard Dreyfuss along with Tatiana Maslany.

As a racer

Although he is not quite famed in the race car industry, he is known for his hobby being race car driving. Priestley had in one time transitioned towards circuit racing in 1996. He drove Ford Mustangs in the Motorola Cup competition as well as IMSA GTS. But in 2002 he got injured at a practice run. Priestley’s car had crashed into a wall when he was speeding at around 180 miles per hour. He later became co-owners of FAZZT race team and also a new IndyCar Series.

Priestley got married to his wife Naomi Lowde; a make-up artist on May 14, 2005. They had their first child, a daughter named Ava Veronica. She was born on July 2, 2007. Their second child, a son this time on July 9, 2009. They have named him Dashiell Orson.

Jason Priestley has been nominated in many categories for awards although he has not received one yet. He was nominated for “Best Young Actor Supporting Role in a TV series” in 1990. He was later nominated for “Best performance by an Actor in a TV-series” in 1995 as well as for “Best Performance by an Actor in a TV-series” in 1993. Jason Priestley was also nominated for the “Best Performance or Host in a Variety Program or series” in 2003.
