Julie Bowen Luetkemeyer was born on 3rd March of 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland, to mother Suzanne and father, John Alexander Luetkemeyer. She was raised in Ruxton-Riderwood, Maryland but spent part of her early year in Italy.
She is the second child among three daughters. Her elder sister is Molly Bowen, an interior designer and her young sister is Annie Bowen, a doctor.
Bowen attended three different schools. She attended Ruxton-Riderwood, Maryland first. She then attended Garrison Forest School and finally St. George’s School.
Later, Bowen attended the Brown University. She majored in Italian Renaissance studies.
She also studied acting at Actor’s Institute.
