Sandra Miju Oh is a Canadian Actress and is commonly known by the name of Sandra Oh.
She is best known for her role in Grey’s Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Christina Yang and has Golden Globe Awards as well as landing multiple nominations.
Sandra has also featured in films like ‘Sideways’ and ‘The Princess Diaries.’ She also played the role of a supporting character in Arliss.
Sandra Oh was born in Ottawa, Canada on 20th July of 1971. She was born to mother Oh Young-nam, a biochemist, and father Oh Junsu, a businessman. Her parents are immigrants from Korea and in the 1960’s, they moved to Canada. She has a brother and a sister.
Oh started ballet and acting at a very young age.
Sandra Oh attended Sir Robert Borden High School. Oh was ‘Student Council President’ when she was there. During her high school, she played the flute while taking ballet and acting lessons.
After graduating high school, Sandra was offered scholarship at Carleton University to study journalism. But she dropped the scholarship and attended National Theatre School of Canada. She graduated from the school in 1993.
Sandra Oh was enthusiastic about acting from a very young age. She participated in many plays and dramas of her school. Her first professional work as a theater actor is after graduating college. She starred in Oleanna of David Mamet.

In 1996, Sandra Oh played the title role in Double Happiness (a Canadian film) as Jade Li. In fact, it is among her early work which exposed her to media and attention.
Sandra later starred in 1997’s Bean which was an international hit. Later on, she was featured in numerous other movies and TV shows like Last Night, Long Life, Happiness & Prosperity and Waking the Dead.
In the year 2005, Oh made appearances in many films like 3 Needles and Hard Candy. She also was cast as Dr. Christaina Yang in Grey’s Anatomy in the same year.

While being cast in Grey’s Anatomy, Oh, made appearances in many films like 2006’s The Night Listener, 2009’s Defendor, 2010’s Ramona and Beezus and Rabbit Hole.

In 2010, Sandra played the role of Sarah Chen in ‘Throne’. Next year on 28th June, Sandra even received her star on the Canada’s Walk of Fame.
In 2014, she collaborated with Ann Marie Fleming (director) and played the voice of ‘Rosie Ming’ in animated movie Window Horses. In the same year, she played the supporting role of character Kathy Bates in movie Tammy.
Oh was cast in the lead role of Shitty Boyfriends which is a comedy series on the web in the year 2015. In 2016, she also was shooting and woking on the role of Veronica for movie Catfight.
Currently, she is also working on movie American Crime as Abby Tanaka. The series is expected to be aired in 2017.
