After playing side roles and cameos for a while, the actor was finally given a chance to play a lead role. In the year 2004, he appeared as the lead character in the film- Win a Date With Tad Hamilton.
This followed another lead role in the movie- In Good Company. The same year, he starred in the movie P.S as well. For his portrayal in these films, he received the National Board of Review’s Award for Breakthrough Performance Actor.
